Advertising is the chosen allegory for the municipality's 2020 carnival

The Ayuntamiento's Events' Council has announced that the world of advertising is the chosen allegory for their 2020 Carnival that will take place from 5th until 21st March. Coast Calma will host the carnival on 5th March, followed by La Lajita on 6th and Pájara on 7th March. The town of Morro Jable will celebrate its carnival from 13th until 21st March. The Ayuntamiento attends the demands of Coast Calma's Population

The mayor of Pájara, Miguel Ángel Graffigna, together with municipal councillors recently attended a meeting of the Association of Costa Calma's neighbours, El Baifa Libre, in order to analyse the situation of residents of this area. Municipal representatives presented the work that has been carried out so far and the projects that the Ayuntamiento is planning shortly such as the creation of two urbanisations, the state of development of the project of a school in La Lajita that will affect students of Costa Calma and other subjects of interest for the local population. During the meeting, they also spoke about unblocking the situation that has been going on regarding the closure of three hotels and the compensations of the promotor involved, as well as the relationship with institutions such as the Cabildo and the Canarian Government.

 

Pájara improves the image of Avenida del Saladar

The Ayuntamiento of Pájara is complying with the objectives of the Plan of Improvement and Modernisation of Morro Jable by creating a project for the renovation of Avenida del Saladar in the touristic area of Solana Matorral. The budget represents 80.640 Euros and a completion time of six months. The objective is to change the image of the space located in front of the commercial building overlooking the beach of El Matorral for the enjoyment of residents and tourists and making it compatible with the green areas and universal accessibility. Therefore, the project includes measures such as the widening of the avenue by eliminating and changing the layout of parking spaces. Some spaces for loading and unloading will be created as well as adapted spaces and areas for taxis, buses and emergency services and some charging spaces for electric vehicles. Avenida del Saladar will also be fitted with new pavements, urban furniture and equipment for accessibility, eliminating obstacles as much as possible, as well as slimmer palm trees and other vegetation, electric and telephone cables will also be buried. As for public lighting, the Ayuntamiento will instal better quality street lights and more of them. The area will also be fitted with adequate urban furniture with benches, bins, parking spaces for bicycles and street signs as well as resting and meeting areas.
