Closing of the pelotamano workshops for the 2023 season

The Sports and Hunting Council of Fuerteventura's Cabildo has closed the pelotamano (ball game played with bare hands) workshops that were organised within the “No olvides lo nuestro” (Don't forget what is ours) programme which aims at preserving and promoting this traditional sport. The initiative included the participation of Patricia Hernández Marrero and Jonás Medina Santana, who the Cabildo thanks for their implication and efforts to perpetuate this traditional sport, teaching participants the rules, moves and strategies of this game. The ten workshops took place in the “Gavia Los Hormiga” park thanks to the collaboration of Puerto del Rosario's Ayuntamiento. Furthermore, the “No olvides lo nuestro” programme also organised the VI Fuerteventura-Lanzarote Pelotamano Encounter which took place during FEAGA 2023, with the collaboration of the Sports Council.
