I t is a space where we let ourselves be transported, it is where we work but also where we enjoy time reading. If the space is big enough, we can create various areas in one space. We could, therefore, have one working area and another for relaxation and reading. When decorating libraries or reading areas, it is essential to create a welcoming ambience, a good set of shelves where you can install your books and the essential comfortable armchair. Shelves are a necessary element; we can keep our books there, our magazines, souvenirs from trips, trophies, trinkets, etc.
People who love to read cannot resist it. If you don't have an exclusive space to create it, you can use any area of the house. A wall in the lounge, a passing area, below stairs, corridors also, whether they are long, wide or narrow, they are always useful when looking for a space for books. Simple shelves higher up and a little bit of imagination will provide a good solution. When it comes to installing the books, the best way is to set them according to style, themes, type or language. It is not necessary to organise them according to the colour or size.
The different heights, widths and colours are part of the decoration. However, we do advise to align them on the edge of the shelf, in order to create a visual balance, giving the sensation of order and cleanliness.
The style of the room also makes a difference for the organisation of the books, on classic library shelves, books should be perfectly organised, where colours and sizes of books have more importance.
Independently from the style, we should not forget about illumination, playing with direct and indirect light.
